After revealing myself again after a month of absence from soul-searching in my career, I decided to go back to my 2nd family and gained the position of Community Manager of ZXOnline (Zhuxian Online).

I'm back for good, and I'm glad for all of the warm welcome. ^_^

Pero ciempre, ndi lahat masaya. Maraming nalungkot at nagalit.

Ang weird lang dahil ayaw nilang aminin yung nararamdaman nila sa harap ko. Kailangan ko pang malaman yun sa iba.

Nawala ako ng isang buwan, under ng company na nagbebenta ng mga Italian appliances, industry nila sobrang malayo sa Online Gaming. Culture shock ako dahil iba pamamalakad nila, ibang mukha nakikita ko araw-araw, at ciempre, ibang customers. Sobrang detailed sila sa mga bagay na akala natin simple lang sa mata natin: gas range, BBQ grills, at kung anu-ano pa.

Ang term ko noon, wow, na-homesick ata ako.

Tapos sinabihan ako ng mga friends ko back in e-Games na may bagong game. Ciempre kung babalik ako, ndi na ako sa GE since nagturnover na ako dati pa. Yun nga lang, pagbalik ko, probationary ako ulit, kung baga, reset back to zero ang 3-year stay ko before sa kanila. Sabi nga ng mga applicants, partly money, mostly the job.

If you find a job that you love, you'll never have to work a day in your life again.

Calling ko ito. Mejo corny, pero totoo. Nasa gaming ang career ko. I've learned my lesson, and my soul-searching has now ended.

Maraming nagchismis na iniwan ko ang pwesto ko dati dahil sa ibang game. Para sa akin, kahit anong community manager ako ng iba't-ibang games, basta nasa e-Games ako, tutulong ako kahit saan. Active ako kahit anong event, mapa-GE man yan, Ran Online, Cabal at kung anu-ano pa. Present ako lagi doon. Supportive ako dahil second family ko na ang community na matagal na namin binuo. Kahit sino pa ang nauna at nahuli, andito ako para sa inyo.

Andami na nga naka-add sakin sa YM, halo-halo na. So sorry na lang po kung na-ggroup message ko kayo ng ZXOnline. ^.^

Tip ko lang sa gamers: laruin ninyo ang game na gusto ninyo. HIndi ako ang manghuhusga o magsasabi ng kung ano ang dapat ninyo laruin. Kanya-kanyang taste lang yan. Wag sana natin haluin ng pulitika ang lahat. Have fun - heto ang motto ko sa lahat ng nilaro ko nang online games.

So bago magpasko ang New Year, sana lahat ng mga masasamang ugali mawala na. Para sa akin, ang paglalaro ay libangan, at ang 2nd house ko ng mga taong gusto kong makasama. Hindi ako naging gamer at manager para sa pulitika.

Dear all,

Please let us clarify happened over the past weeks.

We have noted all the posts written by you guys with regards to the following issues and we would like to address them one by one:-

1. Botting Issue
Over the past weeks, we have actively banned and suspended more than 500 RMT offenders who have stored huge amount of VIS ill-gotten from botting. We have realized that it is not efficient to be simply banning the botters, we had to look at the root of the problem. This is an on-going battle, and we did not spare resources in fighting it.

2. Duping Issue
The entire issue was logged, investigated and escalated to IMC almost immediately when it was reported. We take this very seriously and have tried to re-surface the process many times. However, both IMC and IAH have not been able to re-create the duplication bug. I plead with anyone with actual steps and have successfully performed the bug to PM me directly. We will not take any action against your account once we verify you as a bug reporter.

3. Lengthy & Extended Maintenance
Having a lengthy maintenance does not benefit IAH at all. We deploy a huge group of engineers to work around the clock in order to shorten each of the maintenance. Each of the maintenance are planned with tasks lined up properly. However, managing 300 servers requires time and effort. The previous 36 hours maintenance was performed at the recommendation of our partners and it was aimed at optimizing the network structure. Though the process was rehearsed and planned, certain issues arised in the midst, out of our expectation. (It absolutely tore the hearts of these engineers that despite their sleepless 36 hours of toil, IAH is still deemed to be giving up on GE.)

4. Connection Issues
We encountered this connection problem more than 2 weeks ago. All available details have been shared with the developer and they are helping us to look into it. We also performed checks on our side to ensure that it is not related to bandwidth and ISP issues. We felt absolutely helpless answering all the tickets sent in with regards to the issue. We apologise sincerely to these players who are interrupted in their game play.

5. Sending complaint emails to management or other related authorities
With each of the emails you guys submitted, our team have to prepare a reply and answer to the relevant parties. To be honest, we would rather be putting all our efforts in helping to resolve these issues at hand.

As the management of the game, we have invested endless hours and effort into making the game a better one. If we have failed in our attempts, then we seek to do better by trying harder again. We do need your constructive feedback, if you know what I mean.

Server maintenance has never been more exciting! Come Monday night, our engineers will be camping at the datacenter and enjoying a night with the servers and network switches. The party will start at 0400hrs in the morning of 20th May 2008 and will last till the next day at 1600hrs for the full 12 hours. Only a selected group of distinguished guests from HBS and IMC are invited.

Party highlights include a series of important re-structuring and optimization recommended by the guests. The party was initially scheduled to last 48 hours but due to obvious reasons, it was condensed to make sure the servers are ready for the rest of you the very next day.

There can however be only one such party per week and the weekly scheduled maintenance is thus cancelled as such.

For any comments on this event, you may discuss it here.

2. This will be a 2 versus 2 match. Players are not allowed to join multiple teams.
3. Players from each team will be using the pre-made accounts set by the Game Facilitators. They can choose their own MCC team/set of characters from the said account.
4. Each team/player will be using only the consumables provided by the Game Facilitators.
5. Players are to meet at the City of Auch – PvP Officer 10 minutes before the tournament starts.
6. There will be an allotment of 10 minutes for preparation and 5 minutes for the match.
7. Once the 5-minute time is up, it’s hands-off-the-keyboard. Any player with hands on the keyboard will automatically be disqualified.
8. The team to successfully eliminate all 6 characters of the opposing team will be pronounced the winner for that match.
9. In case of a “draw,” both teams will be required to play a “sudden death match.” Players are not allowed to change their character setup. First team to score a character-kill will be the winner of the match.
10. Warnings will be given for team displaying unsportsmanship behavior or not abiding by the rules and/or listening to the GMs/marshals. There will be disqualifications on the team who will receive 3 warnings and/or exploitation of any bugs and intentional disconnections during the match.
11. In case of system failures or disconnections, inform the marshals as soon as possible. If any players are disconnected before any engagement is made, the match will be restarted. The marshal is also responsible and monitor the match at all times in cases like this one.

13. Schedule may change prior to the availability of the participants during the call time. Participants will be disqualified during no-show for 5 minutes.

Balancing Lifestyle II
Being an emo all the time is not healthy. This new genre of feelings that had been labeled as gloomy and moody before has been affecting alot of people - especially the players. I've posted before an article here: Balancing Lifestyle on how to manage your physical health during playing online games. I've read a book on "The Heart of a Leader," but somehow, I hope this helps in managing our emotional crisis during playing MMORPGs.


Violence is not always the answer!

Controlling Your Emotions (edited words to apply on gamers)
1. Learn rather than defend. Instead of going into a defensive mode and trying to protect or force your views, learn from the situation. Ask yourself what is really going on with that upset gamer. The old saying is true, "When you change someone's point-of-view against their will, you've never truly changed them." From the moment you lose control and retaliate (even if you are right) you've lost the battle. However, by controlling your emotions and investigating the other's viewpoint, you open yourself to a calm and enlightening discussion.

2. Acknowledge rather than agree. It is possible to acknowledge that someone has a different point-of-view than you have without agreeing with their point-of-view. What happens, more often than not, is that the more strongly someone disagrees with us, the more adamant we becoming about convincing them we are right. Before the situation gets out of control, ask yourself, "How important is it that they agree with me?" If the answer comes down to a matter of personal pride - let it go. Acknowledge and respect other's views, the fact that you have a conflicting opinion and allow the conversation to drift to another topic.

3. Express your emotions. Expressing empathy and being emotionally honest is one of the things that will make you a true leader. Everyone you work with already knows you are human. When you share your strengths, weaknesses, triumphs and trials honestly with those around you, you make a more personal connection. Let us never forget, people follow those they like. While your primary concern at the office may not be to make friends; opening yourself up to your team will help develop a sense of trust and loyalty towards you.

4. Stay in integrity with your values. Emotional control does not equate to silence. Just the opposite. When a difficult subject needs to be addressed, you will be fully able to do so… with a level head. When the truth needs to be told, you will be a person other's look to. By showing others you are filled with integrity and you stand by your values will help to define your reputation. Respect always follow those whose "yes" means "yes" and whose "no" means "no".

5. Tactfully handle the negative. It seems, regardless the size of organization/faction you work for, that negative people will always be present. These are the ones that continually complain, create confrontations and lack control of their emotions. If their contribution to your team does not outweigh the damaging attitude, you may want to consider having them transferred to a position where they would be more suited. Be aware of these personality types. Also be prepared to handle the challenges they will bring to you as you prepare to develop your new emotional steadiness.

Progressive leaders (like faction leaders or yourselves) are emotionally stable leaders. They are the ones others turn to during a crisis. They are the ones that become the beacon of true leadership. They are the ones that make it to the top!

I got scammed. I got hacked. My life ends now...

Jump up and down on your bed! Try to calm down and analyze the situation. A good & detailed report on your case will be a good back-up on the investigation on the items/characters you've lost. If you feel like you're going nowhere, that where I come in - we try to appeal for your case for further investigations and clarifications.

I'm also a gamer. I spend tons of time and effort into playing games. However before, I do not know what GMs do, what they're capable of, or who handles the game. Because for me, I enjoy playing, it's my pastime, it's a form of entertainment to de-stress all the stuff I do at the office. While playing games, I often turn up my favorite mp3 list as well. It's weird though, when I die, or got PK'ed, scammed, I'd just say "malas lang." I know this phrase won't exactly will make up your day, or rewind the whole situation.

But hey, the main reason we play online games - at least for me - is to gain more friends, and as I've said, to de-stress from school, work, and other problems. It's like a fantasy of escaping from the real world. I just hope that we don't apply it on real life. Most would express their emotions in-game and in-real-life as well - which is bad. Might sounds cheesy, but hey, it's the truth. Don't confuse your life in-game and go back to reality. Hopefully this would lessen our wrinkles and white hair appearing lately. ^_~

It's like when you stare endlessly infront of your monitor, and wishing some miracle would happen on your gameplay. But as much as cheesy this sounds, but staring at your monitor or playing nonstop would definitely affect your health, and mostly, your eyesight.

Try to use the lights once in awhile, playing in a dim or no lights room doesn't help much.


Love your eyes. Do make sure to have breaks and do some eye exercise.
Try this one:
1. Sit comfortably on a chair. Rub your hands together until they feel warm. Close your eyes and cover them lightly with your cupped palms. Avoid applying pressure on your eyeballs. Place your palms so that the nose remains uncovered, and the eyes remain behind the slight hollow of the palms. Make sure that no light rays enter the eyes, and leave no gaps between fingers or between the edge of the palms and the nose. You may still see other lingering traces of colors. Imagine deep blackness and focus on the blackness. Take deep breaths slowly and evenly, while thinking of some happy incident; or visualize a distant scene. After your eyes see nothing but blackness, remove your palms from your eyes. Repeat the palming for 3 minutes or more.
2. Close your eyes tightly for 3-5 seconds, then open them for 3-5 seconds. Repeat this 7 or 8 times.
3. Close your eyes and massage them with circular movements of your fingers for 1-2 minutes. Make sure you press very lightly; otherwise, you could hurt your eyes.
4. Press three fingers of each hand against your upper eyelids, and hold them there for 1-2 seconds, then release. Repeat 5 times.
5. Sit and relax. Roll your eyes clockwise, then counter-clockwise. Repeat 5 times, and blink in between each time.
6. Sit about 6 inches (200 mm) from the window. Make a mark on the glass at your eye level (a small sticker, black or red, would be perfect). Look through this mark and focus on something far away for 10-15 seconds; then focus on the mark again.
7. Hold a pencil in front of you at arm's length. Move your arm slowly to your nose, and follow the pencil with your eyes until you can't keep it in focus. Repeat 10 times.
8. Look in front of you at the opposite wall and pretend that you are writing with your eyes, without turning your head. It may seem difficult at first, but with a bit of practice it is really fun. The bigger the letters, the better the effect.
9. Imagine that you are standing in front of a really big clock. Look at the middle of the clock. Then look at any hour mark, without turning your head. Look back at the center. Then look at another hour mark. Do this at least 12 times. You can also do this exercise with your eyes closed.
10. Focus on a distant object (over 150 feet or 50 m away) for several seconds and slowly refocus your eyes on a nearby object (less than 30 feet or 10 m away) that's in the same direction. Focus for several seconds and go back to the distant object. Do this 5 times.
11. Focus on an object in the distance (as far as possible) with a low contrasting background. Do this for a few minutes every half hour or so. This does not improve your vision, nor does any other technique. It can, however, maintain your best eyesight level during the day and prevent significant further vision deterioration.

We eat three times a day - Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. And 2x in between for breaktime. While on AFK, yes you can eat, and do try to eat at least 3x a day for the basics. This will help you get thru the 12 hours of playtime.

To eat or not to eat!

Find other ways to do while your characters are on AFK. Listening to music, reading a book or cleaning up your room will kill some time before you go on level-grinding again or some good ol' PVP.


Relax with good music according to your mood, while your characters do their job. ^^

Stretch your muscles. Sitting infront of the computer can seriously make your muscles cold - thus you'll get cramps afterwards. Try to relax, and do some basic exercises straight from your chair.
Step 1:
Start by sitting up straight in your chair. Hold on to the chair arms or the seat of your chair. With feet gently resting flat on the floor, begin by squeezing buttocks to tighten muscles. Hold the position for about three seconds. Rest, take a deep breath and repeat several times. Practice deep breathing during all exercise.

Step 2:
Relax in your chair and breathe. Exercise buttocks while sitting with hip lifts. Sit toward the edge of your chair next with your back straight. Hang on to chair arms or seat. Lean your shoulders or upper torso toward the chair back. (It's okay to lean shoulders against the chair a bit.) Spread knees apart slightly with both feet flat resting on the floor. Lift hips up and hold for about three seconds. Rest, take a deep breath and repeat several times. Stop and breathe.

Step 3:
Practice chair squats to exercise buttocks while sitting. Sit straight up in your chair. Hang on to chair arms or seat to start with. Place feet flat and securely on the floor. Push yourself up to an almost standing position. Inhale. Hold for about three seconds; then sit back down slowly and exhale. Lift up again to almost standing but this time don't sit. Squat slowly several times before sitting to relax. Inhale while pushing up; exhale while squatting.

Step 4:
Tighten buttocks during chair push ups. Use the arms of your chair to lift your body upward and squeeze buttocks together tightly. Hold for approximately three seconds and release to sitting. Keep back straight while performing chair push ups and avoid tightening shoulders or the neck. Breathe throughout the exercise and rest when finished.

Step 5:
Practice alternating leg lifts. Sit up straight and toward the edge of your chair. Extend your legs straight out in front of you with both heels resting on the floor. Hang on the chair arms or seat.

Step 6:
Lift the right leg and buttock by leaning over to the left a bit. Tighten the right buttock and continue to lift about six times. Lift the left leg and buttock leaning over to the right; tighten the left buttock while lifting. Inhale and exhale between lifts. Alternate sides and lifts next. Rest and breathe.

Step 7:
Exercise buttocks while sitting with butterfly exercises. Sit straight in your chair again toward the edge. Hold on to the chair arms or seat. Lean back slightly. Hold knees together with both feet of the floor in front of you.

Step 8:
Spread your knees apart as wide as you can without moving your upper body. Allow your heels to lift from the floor as you move your knees outward. Inhale and exhale as you open and close your knees.

Back to your ticket, usually to check if your report went in, there should be an automated reply that will look like this:


Then there would be another automated reply on the status of your ticket (whether it'll be categorized on technical, GMs, etc.)


The last reply would be the final verdict on your case. Which means, it's wherein the GMs / Tech Support would usually reply and solve the case. There's also a message there that if you would want to report again, just click the "GAME FEEDBACK HERE" and submit/make a follow-up along with the CASE REFERENCE number - this is your TICKET NUMBER during the FIRST AUTOMATED REPLY of your submitted report. You can also click that REPLY button in your email to make a follow-up or add more to your report.


Always remember to check your REGISTERED EMAIL of your GE IAHPassport account. That is where the GE Team usually reply unto, so do check it before your itching fingers would want to post a spam topic into the forum thread saying "hey! howcome you guys aren't responding to my ticket?"

Time is of the essence. Let's help out each other here instead of sulking in a corner. This tip will save both yours, and everyone's productivity. ^_^

Many of us had experienced technical errors and lots of bugs already in-game. May it be major or minor, most would email me about it without even report it thru a ticket first. CMs doesn't have the power to fix your bug reports. So I'll be teaching you guys how to report, and hopefully have your 'bugs' fixed. ^^

On the right side panel, underneath the GE Item Shop icon with the pretty face, you'll be able to see the T-rex icon. Click on that one so that you'll be redirected to the Game Feedback ticket.


Click on the LOGIN icon.

When submitting a bug report, Please provide very specific information concerning the bug you encountered. Explain your issue clearly so we can investigate and solve the issue.

Here are some points to note:

* Include the quest names as well as the NPCs or items.
* Include the level or rank of the skills or spells.
* Include the location and name of the NPCs accurately.

How to attach screenshot for bug report
The maximum file size for attaching screen shots is 2mb. Please set the quality of the screenshot to "Normal Quality(JPG)" in game options. If you need to submit multiple screen shots, compress the files with Win-Zip or Win-Rar and keep the size below 2mb.

In recent days, there have been several cases of GE accounts being banned due to fraudulent credit card purchases. From the feedback of the affected account owners, we have gathered that some of these players were purchasing G-points from illegal/unauthorized sellers.

These sellers have purchased their game value using stolen credit card details. From our logs, we have been able to trace the movement of the game values and banned accounts related to these illegal game values.

We would like to advise all GE gamers to purchase Game Value Cards (GVC) only from authorized resellers/distributors stated on our official website under “Buy GE”. Do not accept or buy any game value sold by unauthorized sources. These illegal sellers typically sell their ill-gotten game value at a discount and your GE account is at risk of being affected should you allow these sellers to transact into your account.

As a general rule of thumb, it is unwise to share your user account name and password with anyone. If possible, try to use a unique user account and password and not your “typical” details you used on other websites. We have been receiving numerous calls for assistance because of these compromises and while we try our best in helping, there are cases in which we could not render any assistance.

Renaissance Fashion
16th - 18th Century~

The world was filled with corsets, chemise, ruffles, sleeves, lace, and among the other fabrics and accessories that certainly made the people like in that scene: The Vanity Fair.

In the Renaissance popular fashion styles ranged from wide, to barrel-shaped and square fashions.

During the evolution of women's fashion in the European Renaissance, clothing for women went from three pieces (underskirt, bodice and robe) to one piece and then back to five or more pieces (skirt, underskirt, bodice, overbodice or vest, hoop and collar). This helped maintain Renaissance social structures since the lower classes did not wear the same fashions as the rich.

Hats
Most men of the Renaissance wore some sort of head cover. Some times these hats were leather but more often, especially in lower classes, the hat was felt, wool, or cloth. The higher up the food chain a man was the more ornate, like everything, was his hat. Upper class men adorned their hats with long feathers, ribbons, and sometimes even flowers. By this time in history hats came in many styles. Some were floppy, some brimmed, and some tall. Black was not your only color choice either. Many period paintings show a multitude of red hats that were not clergy.

Women's hair coverings went from the 'pointed cone' style with no hair allowed to show, to the more popular light weight veil type trimmed with flowers or lace. Most women had very long hair and kept it braided. As time passed, a pointed hood-like covering was introduced, called a cap. In later years it became more optional to wear head or hair coverings at all. Weather and age determined if you covered your head. Older women wore caps or coverings, the younger ones didn't, unless the weather dictated otherwise.

A letter from your CM:

I am truly sorry for not being able to please everyone; for not answering all your inquiries asap, or being able to attend all unofficial gatherings and do faction visitations. It's not true that I only focus more on this area, or on this player, etc.

I won't make any promises. I don't lie either (I am very bad at white lies). If ever you thought that you're being mistreated or that someone else is special than you, that is so wrong. Every GE player is my friend, my buddy in-game and perhaps in real life as well. Rumors about me giving items or anything rare in-game is false; I'm not a GM, therefore I don't create any special items or can easily fix your bug or can trace any actions that you do in-game.

I'm a girl-on-the-go, I usually go on errands and walk around the office, take small breaks like coffee, and have lots of paperwork and reports to do everyday. Thus, the idle mode and my always 'not-at-my-desk' and 'stepped out' status.

I'd go out in the rain (literally) just to attend big and even small events. I'd love to try to give freebies and those sought-item like angel wings everyday, but sad to say, it's very limited.

I'm human, I make mistakes, and I admit it. If ever you caught me in my gloomy mood, I'm sorry for that as well, but sometimes, if you're a bit pushy or aggressive, and also rude, I'd have to defend myself as well.

I didn't made this letter for you all to appreciate me or like me... I made this for you all to know me better. ^_^
